A few things Friday

fall leafWhat are you up to this weekend? Have you gotten your tree yet? That’s going to be our task today, after grabbing brunch somewhere delicious. So I got sick again. The combination of unusual hours at work and an undue amount of stress. You’d think that realizing you’re stressed and knowing that that stress isn’t good for your health would be enough for your brain to overcome the feeling of being stressed. But it isn’t. Despite the cough, the scratchy mouse voice and the perpetual sour taste in my mouth from adding fire cider to everything I consumed, there were many things that made me smile this week. I hope you can say the same about your week.

Christmas CookiesThese Christmas cookies and my wonderful husband for making them.

Timmy FailureA new book from Candlewick that made me laugh out loud several times. I love any book that starts “Blah, Blah, Blah, Blah, Blah” and has drawings.

This hilarious music video (Warning: wear headphones if you’re at work or with children). If only thrift shopping was this glamorous. ;)

bubblebatherinA writing project for work that required getting in a tub of giant jasmine-scented bubbles (with face mask to boot). Thoughts on posting this photo here:

1) Hoping it’s not too scandalous.

2) Why don’t bath shops and indie bookstores team up? I know many book-lovers who are also bath-lovers and often combine the two activities. I would love a gift basket that was equal parts bookseller-selected books and bath products. Jussayin.

Have a great weekend! What will you be reading?

  1. Oh, now that is just inspired – a gift basket combining books and bubble bath! Dare I suggest a mini bottle of wine and a few chocolate truffles too? Heaven couldn’t be any better than that… ;)

Well, I’m feeling better after just two days, so it must!

Hello, new reader here after Morgan from Purging Pretty recommended your blog.

I totally agree with indie bookshops and beauty products teaming up.
